Mrs. Morgan's Messages

We are continuing to push so that we can be ready for whatever comes next. We work very hard during class. As a result, I rarely give homework. I feel that if I can keep my students engaged and learning for the two hours they are with me, they really shouldn't have homework. I can tell you that we are tired after my class!

I have been posting grades regularly in the electronic grade book. If you would like to keep up with what your student is doing, please go to the parent communication center from the Sabine Parish Homepage (http://www.sabine.k12.la.us/). You have to enter the information asked exactly like it appears in JPAMS--the database the school uses for student records. If you need help, please call the school to find out how to access the information on your child.

I have expressed why I do not give a lot of homework; HOWEVER, I continue to encourage you to have your children read at least 20 minutes every night. They can read whatever they would like to read. They just need to read. After reading, if you will talk with your child and let him or her tell you what has been read, you will see their reading comprehension greatly impacted.

Thank you for being diligent about returning the green library letters. This helps me to know that your child can take advantage of the reading materials in my classroom.

Thank you for letting me teach your children. If you have any questions, please email me at melanie@sabine.k12.la.us or call the school. I will be happy to speak with you.
